A winery where Canadians and Americans unite. In 1993, Michael Lancaster ventured from his native Toronto to California, driven by a passion for winemaking. His uncommon tenacity has yielded wines of true depth and elegance. R8 stands for Runway 8 at the Sonoma County airport, where scenic flights are launched over the winery. Fruit is harvested from the finest California vineyards and tended in their Sonoma cellars.
The R8 is one of the more structured Cabernet Sauvignons we have tasted. Ripe flavors and vibrant tannins. The nose opens with aromas and flavours of ripe red fruit and spice. Refreshing acidity and polished finish. Hints of oak but not the over-powering jammy notes found in many other Cali Cabs.
